Opinion: "Team World" Laver Cup victory owes its unity and personality
The luxurious and already traditional Laver Cup tournament became more dynamic from the moment the young Brazilian prospect, João Fonseca, took the court on Friday (19). After consecutive defeats by "Team World" to Europeans Casper Ruud and Jakub Mensik, the 19-year-old shut out Flavio Cobolli and prevailed in straight sets.
During the end of the first set of that match, a sense of unity and determination was already evident between Andre Agassi and his players, when the eight-time Grand Slam champion chanted "João FONSECAAA" and was joined by the team. From that moment on, a unique identity was established for "Team World."

From then on, the team also achieved six more victories, earning the "World Team" their third Laver Cup title. And in this edition, Taylor Fritz's name cannot be ignored: the American played with courage, sensing the energy of Agassi and his team. He not only sealed the title by defeating Zverev on Sunday, but also annihilated the forces of world number one Carlos Alcaraz in one of the weekend's highlights.
